Symbolism of christian orthodox baptismals, Near death experience and DMT.

"Certain baptists till the 16th century when they talked about being born again, originally baptism was just that, i mean now you can get this through DMT in just 5 min, but in the time of John the baptist you could get it 5 minutes through being drowned.

People were lining up on the bank of the Jordan they went in, the baptist held them under, if he held them under long enough, he could actually induce a near death experience (life review, the drowning man sees his life pass before him, etc)
And you saw them come back and say "i've died, i've seen the light, i've been born again, i no longer have any fear of death, my life has been transformed in 5 minutes"

Rupert Sheldrake - from an interview at Joe Rogan Experience

Makes me think about the baptismals in Greece and other christian orthodox run countries. Being a kid, like 2-3 years old entering an old dark building being touched by a strange old man, my parents, the only gods i've known for the short time i've lived at that point, nowhere to be seen, this old man puts me in a cold water filled golden bathtub that looks more like a medieval wine cup, and dips me in several times, singing some weird lyrics and god's fan club all gathered around in the dark building, all chanting, all being happy and serious at the same time... Not to mention the flash photography and incense smell all over the place.

I swear whenever i did baptismal photography in greece, i couldn't help but feel for the young innocent children. The whole act is symbolic of course, but none the less it is a frightening experience for a human being this young...
